By default, the session is stored when exiting from TeXstudio and restored at start-up. Running the app and it installed whatever it needed itself. TeXstudio uses Sessions to store and restore the set-up of open documents. I have forgotten the details of my original installation last August IIRC I merely began

I don't know how to re-install įor the upgrade I merely replaced the old app with the new one (in the Applications folder). But if I try to open and compile the original save file with the same exact code, I get the 'could not start default compiler error' again.

The old installation will not work on the new thus I suspect For whatever reason, it started working again after I re-opened TeXstudio and pasted my code into a new untitled file. I have many old versions of the source LaTeX file and a version that works on XPC_FLAGS, SPC_SERVICE_NAME,++CF_user_TEXT_ENCODING. Otherwise the reports have the same format, with lines beginning with these words:ĭISPLAY, HOME, LOGNAME, PATH, SHELL, SSH_AUTH_SOCK, TMPDIR, USER, (B) On neither report is there a line containing the word 'config' I find this suspicious as it appears that no "rendering" is occurring. Could not Start Build & View:PdfLaTeX: pdflatex.exe -synctex1 -interactionnonstopmode. (A) Results on each are roughly similar EXCEPT the older computer's first data line begins:Īpple_PubSub_Socket_Render=/private/tmp/com.apple.Īnd the report on the newer computer contains no such line. Per you suggestion, I ran 'Help/Check LaTeX Installation' on both computers. The default settings should work with the recent and standard LaTeX distributions, but you could have to modify them (Configure TeXstudio -> Commands). i constantly get that error: could not start default compiler:pdfLaTeX: path to pdflatex.exe - synctex1 -interactionnonstopmode'library.tex'. Run texstudio from the terminal command-line, then try to compile a document from TeXstudio.

Please paste the output from which pdflatex here.
